Our dance company consists of a group of talented individuals;
from diverse professional fields, who enjoy sharing their culture through music and dance. Its main goal is to provide audiences with a high quality sample of the spirit and flavor of Panama. It is based on the belief that our customers' needs are of the utmost importance, therefore our repertoire is composed of original pieces approached with a contemporary vision, striving to preserve the originality and authenticity in the rhythms and movements of the traditional dances.
Our entire team is committed to meeting those needs and bringing forth the true spirit of the Panamanian people. Currently, Ballet Folklórico Viva Panama maintains a full performance schedule all year long throughout California, other states and other countries. The company have performed in Texas, Nevada, Puerto Rico, Mexico, and Canada.
BALLET FOLKLORICO VIVA PANAMA
In April 1991, after realizing that their Culture and Folklore were not represented among the multicultural festivals in the Southern California area, a group of Panamanians created Ballet Folklórico Viva Panama, since then they have toured by more than 60 cities in California, three states and four countries (Mexico, Puerto Rico, Canada, China and soon Italy ).
The property of this corporation is irrevocably dedicated to educational purposes; because of this, many VPO events and projects are planned to fulfill this purpose. VPO through its Ballet Folklorico has taken its cultural heritage to the schools, planting the seed of the dances of Panama in the schools of Southern California.
