The panel of judges was compounded by its President,Erick Solares, Guatemalan Attorney, Member of the Mexican American Bar Association and attorney of the Department of Transportation of the State of California and Ben Hernandez, Panamanian experter in International Economy and Member world accounts of Capitol & Emi Record. 


Among the judges, we were very priviliged to have: Patricia Feil, Panamanian veteran in the airline industry, COPA General Manager of the Western region; Armando Rubio, Mexican Theater Director and Owner of Rubio's Studio, an acting and medeling school; Ana Pescador, Mexican painter, artist and curator, Executive Director of the Latino Museum of History, Ast and Culture; Carlos Cortes, Puerto Rican fashion experter for more than 20 years, Sales & Public Relation Executive of Malibu Dream Girl; and last but not least, our Panamanian Miss Universe and Latin image of CasaDior & L'Oreal de Paris, Justine Pasek

The show started with a choreography of Mario Benitez and the members of Ballet Folklorico Viva Panama, who performed a Pre-Columbian segment with laborious and intrincated costumes with gold and feathers, representing the wealth that was taken by the conquistadors, and including their lands, religions, and lives. 


The participants displayed a Horacio Prado's design inspired in the Pre-Columbian theme. This was how Viva Panama celebrated its XX Anniversary.

Ours Masters of Ceremonies were Laura Yee, TV Presenter of  "Bueno Dias Panamá" from TVN Canal 2 and Dr. Octavio Pescador, Professor at the UCLA Latin American Institute.

The theme for this year was inspired in the archeological artifacts or PreColumbian discoveries in Sitio Conte, Penonome, Panama.  This was inspiration for the opening show, a ceremonial rite to the God of the Rain, represented by the golden frog, which appears during the rainy season. The participants to Srta. Panama California 2011 displayed designs from Horacio Prado under the artistic direction of Mario Benitez.

Viva Panama Organization (VPO) always proud of its Culture and always striving to share it with the multicultural population of California annually recognizes its Distinguished People for their professional achievement and contribution to the Panamanian community in USA and selects its Srta. Panama California 2011.Our Recognition Gala was held on Aug., 21, 2011, during our XX Anniversary Celebration at the Downey Civic Theater.


Our event Srta. Panama took place at the same time when we celebrated Viva Panama's XX Anniversay, at the Downey Civic Auditorium.

We also had the pleasure to have as our guest dance company Beat Dance Company, directer by the Panamanian Javier Campines.

Our 2011 Contestants were: Marissa Mireles representing Playa del Rey, Genesis Salazar representing Los Angeles, Evelyn Mandeville representing Thousand Oaks, Maria Samaniego representing Glendale and Jessica Testa representing West Hollywood.     

Among our invited artists we had the beautiful and popular star of TVN Canal 2 serie, Sueños de Verano, Elizabeth Grimaldo with her  recent musical works: "Quítate la Máscara" and " Atrapo la Ilusión" ; and our dear local artist, Marisabel Bazán, who brought rhythm with her popular musical piece "Bomba Latina" and that gave the beat for the participants of Srta. Panama CA in their bathing suit competition, and the tradition represented through the voice of Sylvia Forrest.
