We, at Viva Panama
Organization, strongly recommend the following programs to support
and help them to improve the lives of our children in Panama.

The Foundation
"Friends of Children with Cancer and Leukemia It was created to provide assistance to
children suffering with these diseases, with no medical
insurance, and resources to cover for their ambulatory medical
expenses, who live in a subsistence economy in indigenous or
rural areas. At the time of the diagnosis, the
Hematology-Oncology Department inform the foundation about the
new case and requests a social service analysis to know what
are the needs of the patient. The foundation then
provides medications, a place to stay, needles or
transportation. You can contact: Leslie

AFS-USA
Intercultural Program USA: As
the end of the school year approaches, we would like to keep you
appraised of AFS's summer exchange program to Panama, which
may be of particular interest to parents and youth. AFS is one
of the world's largest non-profit organizations that facilitates
international student exchange and has a 90 year history dedicated
to peace and volunteerism.
On the Panama summer
program, American high school students contribute to a community in
Panama by living and working alongside its members in a
community-based service organization. Opportunities also
abound for students to experience Panama's natural treasures found
in its rainforests and beaches.
Viva Panama
Organization supports this program especially for students with a
Panamanian ancestry as one way to return to their roots, to breath
and digest their culture directly through their contribution to the
community where might be involved and feel proud of their heritage
after this unique experience.
